Film Terbaik versi ajang Piala Oscars 2016 ini bercerita tentang penyelidikan satu tim jurnalis di Boston yang berusaha menyibak skandal pelecehan seksual anak bawah umur yang dilakukan oleh sekelompok pendeta Katolik. Rintangan yang menghadang, mulai dari sensitifnya isu sampai penyembunyian fakta yang melibatkan institusi-institusi terhormat, membuat tugas mereka tidak mudah. Namun satu pertimbangan menjadi pemberat yang signifikan: korban berhak mendapat keadilan, dan korban tidak boleh bertambah. Maka tim wartawan The Boston Globe pun mengambil langkah pasti. Mereka tidak akan menyerah menguak skandal ini.

In their struggle to uncover the scandal of sexual abuse perpetrated by Catholic priests, the team faced many obstacles, ranging from the sensitivity of the issue to deliberate cover up by supposedly respected institutions. But one thing made it certain: the victims deserve justice and there should be no more of them. So the team went on. The scandal must be exposed.
