Bencana tsunami telah setahun berlalu di desa Geunting Timur di Aceh, dan kerja membangun ulang rumah dengan bantuan dana asing telah dimulai. Namun, dimulai juga hari-hari penuh pening kepala bagi Geuchik (Kepala Desa) Abdurrahman. Selain harus mengelola arus bahan bangunan, situasi pembangunan, dana dan persediaan, dia juga harus menghadapi segala drama mulai dari kecelakaan, keluhan dan kebakaran. Meskipun sang geuchik bertekad untuk menuntaskan pekerjaan ini, para tetua desa, warga, pekerja dan staf PBB bertindak dan bicara semau mereka.

A year has passed since the tsunami in the village of Geunting Timur in Aceh, and the foreign aid plan to rebuild homes is finally underway. However, this also signals the beginnings of the village head “Geuchik” Abdurrahman’sdays of strife as he attempts to take control of the situation. In additon to managing the building-material and construction situation as well as funds and supplies, he scrambles to deal with various village dramas such as accidents, complaints and massive fires. While he strives to keep the project moving, the local elders, villagers, construction workers, and UN staff act and speak as they will.
